Specifically, Forrest received an ACHCA Facility Leadership Award. This particular honor "recognizes administrators of nursing homes who have met superior health care standards."

The ACHCA is the only professional association devoted exclusively to addressing the needs of long term care administrators and executives. Nationally, fewer than 400 of these awards are issued each year, placing Forrest and his facility in an exclusive group. Colonial Oaks Celebrates 10th Anniversary

July 26, 2011 - Bossier City, Louisiana - To celebrate its 10th anniversary, Colonial Oaks held a theme party which featured a wealth of celebrity impersonators who provided entertainment, delighting residents and employees. “Sonny & Cher” emceed the event which included guest appearances by “Loretta Lynn,” “Donna Fargo,” “Patsy Kline,” and “Lady Gaga,” among others.  The facility’s Mardi Gras King & Queen also appeared during the festivities.

The celebration showcased a photographic history of Colonial Oaks, dating back to its first day of operation on July 21, 2001. This special occasion permitted opportunities to reminisce on the past and present achievements that have established Colonials Oaks as a leading provider of long term care services.

Guest Care Rehab Organizes Food Drive

July 19, 2011 - Shreveport, Louisiana - Guest Care Rehab, the rehabilitation services division of Gamble Guest Care, recently organized a food drive to benefit needful residents of northwestern Louisiana. Donations were solicited from staff members across Gamble Guest Care’s comprehensive long term care system, with a total of 378 pounds of food being received from concerned employees. Guest Care Rehab forwarded the generous donations to the Food Bank of Northwest Louisiana which will distribute the various items to its clients.

This particular effort serves as yet another demonstration of the generosity of Gamble Guest Care’s employees who are engaged both internally, delivering exemplary care to residents, and externally, delivering attention and support to needful members of the greater community.

Pilgrim Manor Announces Health & Fitness Activities


May 12, 2011 – Bossier City, Louisiana – To celebrate National Senior Health & Fitness Day, an annual event which will be held this year on May 25, Pilgrim Manor has scheduled a number of activities designed to engage older Americans, helping them to remain healthy and fit. Colonial Oaks Enhances Grounds

April 29, 2011 - Bossier City , Louisiana - On April 27, the grounds at Colonial Oaks benefited from a very refreshing enhancement. Specifically, the bird feeder, a prominent feature situated adjacent to the establishment’s Koi pond, received an upgraded paint scheme. The feeder, constructed courtesy of an Eagle Scout project and originally painted white, now features red, white, and blue colors, making for a very patriotic and uplifting display.

Jay Burkhart, Administrator at Colonial Oaks, commented on the upgrade by stating, “At Colonial Oaks, we continually strive to create a stimulating environment for our residents. The new red, white, and blue color scheme on our bird feeder represents a small, but refreshing change; one that illustrates our efforts to attend to even the smallest of details to ensure the best possible living experiences for our residents.”

The particular color scheme was selected by the residents of Colonial Oaks.
